1* Kim Jung-un
What do you believe are the necessary steps and/or traits to pull people like Holden and Kim Jung-un out of isolation?
I believe the steps to pull people out of isolation and Kim Jung-un out of isolation is to help them accept their own personal flaws. In order to do this,people have to be cautious towards them because of their touchy personalities. Since they both seek flaws in others because of their own personal insecurities, it would be hard to pull them out of isolation. It might be helpful to get Holden and Kim together to sulk in isolation together and judge eachother. Two people isolated from society and connecting may spark emotions towards their personal morals. All in all,I believe that somehow, someway you would have to be cautious and force them out of isolation and help them accept the world how it is despite all the negativity surrounding them.
I believe that to pull Kim Jung-un out of isolation, you must have them accept their personal flaws and right their wrongs. This goes the same for Holden. Holden needs to learn to accept that everyone does not act how he would like them to be. That some people are "phonies". To pull him out of isolation, he must grow up, become responsible, and apologize to his parents. He must accept his fate and follow the consequences that his parents, and the school, give him.
I believe the first step to pulling someone out of isolation is to form a friendship. And in order to form a friendship people like Holden and Kim Jung-un have to except that no one will be the perfect friend or ally. They must finally realize that people in this world are flawed, However it is essential to have a friendship or relationship with someone. Holden and Kim Jung-un can not go through life isolated and alone. They need to embrace that humans have flaws and they do too. They will have a miserable life if they refuse to make any friends.
I believe that the first step to pulling someone out of their self inflicted isolation is let them do it themselves. As an outsiders there isn't much you can do but be supportive and open. People like Holden and KIm Jung-un need to admit to themselves they need to open up and seek people to connect with. By creating a friendly environment, it will help them overcome their need to isolate themselves from society.
I believe that people like Holden and Kim Jung-Un put themselves into isolation and have certain characteristics ,like being critical, that help them achieve that goal. They purposefully put themselves into situations were they can push people away or situations where they can be alone. Therefore, because it is a decision(conscious or unconscious) the only way they can be pulled out of isolation is if they want to be . There may be traits that they prefer or look for ,in Holden's case innocence or purity, but those traits are irrelevant until the person decides to open themselves up to others.
I believe steps should include first admit that they need to be exposed to the real world and get out of isolation. I think people need to form relationships with people are not in isolation. Those people who have been in the real world know what it's like to socialize with other people and know the morals and standards of society. Holden and Kim Jung Un cannot go through life living in their own world. If they continue to do that, they will lose sigh of themselves
In order to get people like Holden Caulfield and Kim Jong-un out of isolation, they need to first accept that their view of the world is not the only correct view. By accepting others view of the world, they can build relationships that last. The first step to getting out of isolation is building lasting relationships and both Holden and Kim Jong-un struggle with that. However, if they simply put in the time and effort at it, they could easily be accepted by society. Only Holden's pessimism and fear of failure keep him separated from the world.
The only thing taking North Korea out of its isolation would be a hostile invasion to remove their communist dictatorship, and reverse the brainwashing done to their people. What Holden needs to be taken out of isolation is someone to come whack him upside the head and tell him to stop being such a mopey loser whining and complaining about problems that he's only caused for himself. Then remind him that he's just some spoiled privileged private school twerp who squandered his opportunities by being a lazy selfish brat and deciding to drop out just because people act phony sometimes. Then tell him that he needs to get over himself and that he should consider himself lucky for how infinitesimal his problems are in comparison to the things other people have to deal with all over the world.
Sarah DiFiore When it comes to Holden, I honestly believe there is nothing that can be done to push him to remove himself from isolation. You cannot force an individual to open up genuinely. A natural connection is born through an effortless bond that forms not through the words spoken between the two, but through mutual underlying respect, nonverbal communication, and a sense of comfort, understanding, and acceptance. If it feels like you are taking a big step or crossing a boundary, trying to get someone to confess or talk about their problems remains ineffective. I don't even think what Holden necessarily needs is someone he can open up to, I think he just needs someone who brings him a sense of love, home, beauty and hope. He needs to stop trying so hard to make connections with people and let it happne on its own. The most beautiful things in life are beautiful because they aren't artificial, they come naturally through the unexpected.
I believe that theonly way to take Kim Jong-un and Holden out of isolation would be to to have someone who they respect confront them about their isolation. In Holden's situation it seems that someone such as Phoebe or Jane would be able to break Holden from his isolation simply because he cares so much about them and thinks highly of them as well. As for Kim Jong-un, I'd imagine it would take someone related to him or someone he greatly respects to convince himto leave the isolated world he lives in.
I believe the only way to take Kim Jong-Un and Holden out of isolation would be for them to open themselves up to the world and try to create new relationships with different people. I know that this is a major problem especially for Holden because it seems like every time he meets someone new, he either gets scared or thinks of things he doesn't like about that certain person. The same is for Kim Jong-Un I believe for he does not believe that it is worth taking the risk.
I believe that Holden and Kim Jong-Un need to understand their personal flaws and realize that they are corrupt. If they continue to believe that their isolation is correct, then they will continue to do so. Kim Jong-Un needs to come to the realization that he cannot separate from the world forever. We want to help them demolish their totalitarian republic but they see us as bad. Holden also isolates himself from society and he needs to understand that everyone is only trying to help him instead of hurt. Both of these men need to understand the wrongdoings they are committing to be able to move on in a normal way.
